Guild Level: 16
SP Cost: 75 spell points
Skill: Regrowth
Syntax: moonbathe <target>

When Astaria's moon is high in the sky, a druid's power becomes greatly magnified. Crucial to druidic rituals, the presence of a moon, even in a non-full phase, provides a druid with incredible boosts to power. By using moonbathe, a druid may focus the moon's light into a shaft of energy which can be used to achieve various effects.

A druid, it must be noted, is not capable of directing this shaft of moonlight into his or her own body, but can bless another with its awesome benefits. The effects of moonbathe will be greatly amplified when the moon is full, and the effects will be completely negated during a New Moon, when the moon's light does not reach Astaria.

When you wash a neutral creature with the moon's light, that target will be filled with the moon's energy, instantly recovering a large amount of SP and benefiting from a brief boost to any statistic.

When used on a non-neutral creature, moonbathe will inflict incredible amounts of damage.

Commentary

Since all druids must be of the neutral ethos moonbathe is an especially beneficial lore for druids cooperating to defeat their foes. Moonbathe will replenish substantially more spell points than it requires to be cast.

Moonbathe functions in a similar fashion to the bard skill inspire in that it restores sp, but instead of giving a temporary bonus to skills as inspire does, it gives a temporary bonus to stats. This boost will be greater depending on the casting druid's regrowth skill. The stats that are boosted are randomly selected.

In addition, multiple moonbathes can be cast on a single target to stack stat boosts. However, this requires multiple druids since the spell cannot be cast until a 2-minute timer elapses. This distinguishes it from the bard skill inspire, where the reverse is true (single bard casts on multiple targets, and target cannot receive another until a ~10-minute timer elapses).

As the spell description states, it does damage to non-neutral targets. If you're partying with someone, make sure he/she/it is neutral before attempting to moonbathe them.
