Even the smallest cantrip has a practical side, and this rite is no exception. This simple exercise in manipulating air currents and pressures has been put to use extending the shelf life of consumables by creating a slight vacuum around them. Of course, this tends to make foods tough, tasteless, and more filling, but it still proves useful on long journeys when spoilage is a concern.
