Helpfile

Guild Level: 5
SP Cost: 30/15 spell points
Skill: Atmosphere
Syntax: mist [lift]

One of the earliest masteries over his environment which a druid may learn is the ability to cause water vapor to coalesce from the air, causing an extremely thick fog to blanket the area. The density of this mist is so great as to occasionally cause passers-by to become turned around, losing their way and finding themselves exiting the fog bank from rather a different direction than they had supposed.

Mists may be summoned every two minutes, but their effects will persist for somewhat longer than that, depending upon the druid's mastery of the atmosphere. Additionally, any druid may dispel a mist created by one of their order by commanding the mist to "lift"; this is rather less taxing and takes only half as much energy.

Commentary

If a druid finds an adventurer who has desecrated nature, sending forth mist may assist in keeping them from fleeing long enough for the druid to take revenge and slay that person.

It has been confirmed that casting mist makes it impossible for a mage to scry a druid and determine their current location.

Mist may be lifted immediately after being cast however a druid must wait 2 minutes between castings
