O---<::::::;;;;[]xxxxxx[}-----------------------------------[ Steal ]---O | Level : 2 | | Skill : theft | | Syntax : steal <item> from <target> | | Cost : 20 sp | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------O | Clearly, this is the defining skill of the thief. What is thievery, | | after all, if not the taking of that which the thief desires while | | disregarding such petty considerations as ownership? The chance of | | success depends upon theft skill, dexterity, and guild level, against| | the level, wisdom and luck of the target. | | | | Though you will not be automatically caught if you fail to steal the | | item, the chance increases. Likewise, you will not automatically go | | unnoticed if you succeed in your theft, though the chance of being | | detected is relatively small. Unsurprisingly, being hidden in | | shadows while attempting to steal will improve your chances | | significantly. Finally, some artifacts and items of great value are | | enchanted such that stealing them would be infeasible. | | | | Stealing from monsters (but not from fellow adventurers) has been | | known upon occasion to grant a small amount of experience. | O-----------------------------------------------{]xxxxxx[];;;;::::::>---O
