Forge (Fighter Feat)
Helpfile
Guild Level: 2/3 SP Cost: - Skill: Metallurgy Syntax: forge armor|<weapon> One of the first skills an apprentice fighter learns is how to operate the guild's massive forge. By doing so, a fighter is capable of crafting his or her own armor and weapons. At guild level 2, a fighter is capable of crafting a number of weapons in the forge. Please note that these baser weapons require iron ore, found either throughout the realm in caves or purchased in the guild's ore shop. At guild level 3, a fighter is capable of crafting a piece of chest armor. This armor will increase in power as the fighter's skill in metallurgy increases. Due to customized nature of the chest armor, it cannot be used by another player after being created. However, just like the common weapons, it requires iron ore to be forged. Upon reaching guild level 7 and specializing in a particular weapon type, a fighter is able to forge a rarer and much more powerful weapon, unique to his or her speciality. These rarer weapons require rarer types of ore not typically found in the guild's ore shop. For a list of available weapons that can be forged, please consult the sign posted in the guild's forge.

Commentary
All forged items prepend the name of the fighter that forged the item to their short descriptions, thus, if Blackfist were to forge a carved ondium shortbow, the weapon would appear in his inventory screen as "Blackfist's carved ondium shortbow". At a minimum, forged iron weapons can be wielded by members of other guilds so long as the other guild's weapon restrictions allow the weapon type to be used. (E.g. clerics can wield the blunt weapons but not any of the others.) All weapons forged have a level requirement to use them, of the fighter that forged them at the time of their forging. (A level 8/8 fighter's weapons can only be wielded by those of level 8 or higher, even after the fighter gains any levels.)
The higher level fighter weapons, which require weapon specialization, have special attacks which randomly occur when the fighter is in combat.
The Ondium Bow has a room special attack.
The Durium Mace has two special attacks: A stun which prevents the fighter's foe from attacking for several rounds, and an instant-kill which can occur once the foe is sufficiently damaged and will instantly kill the foe.
The Mithril Longsword has one special attack. The sword will special and give the fighter several extra attacks in quick succession. The power of the mithril longsword is great since it can drastically increase the number of attacks the fighter performs, if the fighter has luck on their side.
All forged weapons and armor have an upper limit to how good they can be, and thus training metallurgy beyond a certain point serves no purpose.
There is a leather-bound manual on the tserver which allows this command to create luckblades from luckstones.
