Usage: record <ability> to <scroll>
        record list
        invoke <scroll> [at <target>]

Aldonian culture places extremely high value on intellectual pursuits. Trained from an early age to write, aldonians are fully capable of putting complex rituals to word. Aldonian scrolls are highly prized relics, often used by lesser races to gain access to power that would otherwise elude them.

An aldonian can record the simpler of his or her guild abilities to a scroll by using: record <ability> to <scroll>. Aldonians typically only make use of scrolls crafted by the finest artisans. Stores that carry suitable scrolls are typically somewhat rare, but they can be found scattered throughout the realm.

To view a list of scribable abilities in your guild, use: "record list"

Once an ability has been recorded to a scroll, any player may invoke the scroll to gain access to the recorded ability. Beware, though: the excess power associated with the use of aldonian scrolls comes with a very real risk of explosion and related dismemberment, especially the more complex the recorded ritual.

Commentary

Any aldonian can see the list of scribable spells once they join a guild; not all spells are scribable. The only two requisites you must meet to read a scroll are that you must have the guild level of your own guild that the spell is located at in its own guild, and that you have the spell points needed to cast the spell: A level three fighter cannot use a scroll of fireball because the fireball spell is level 14; a level 20 fighter cannot use a scroll of fatigue if he does not have the spell points necessary to cast it. While the list of scribable spells is quite extensive, the list of scribable spells which warrant the sp cost is smaller as the spell on the scroll relies upon the skill of the invoker, not the scriber. A level 14 fighter with a scroll of fireball will be able to use the scroll of fireball, but will not deal that much damage as his invocation skill is nonexistent. A scroll of fatigue will still bring his victim to a screeching halt though, and scrolls of identify or legend will still identify items.
